Radical Hospitality

Amazingly, the only way we can grow up, according to Jesus, is to get over ourselves! The gift of Christ’s love empowers us to get our attention off our own needs and place our attention on others — to recognize them, to welcome them, to love them.

Remember what it was like to enter a group of strangers and feel alien and new? Did someone greet you? Encourage you to sit with them? Even see you?

We are not a social club, hung up on whether someone will ‘fit in.’ We are the Church, the Body of Christ, warmly including all whom God sends. So...

take the first minute after worship to introduce yourself to someone you don’t know— and then introduce them to someone you do know.

Some great friendships have started that way. Don’t ask if they are a visitor, just say, “Have we met?" Give them your name. Don’t ‘sell’ them on the church, just find a way to love them.
