Our building was hurt in the tornado of April 27, 2011
Our Sanctuary building was hit by the tornado. We are fortunate that they built the building sturdy back in 1924. So we are restoring and renovating it and be back in - we hope - before Easter of 2012. Meanwhile we still have an excellent two-thirds of the building in great shape for worship, education, fellowship, and prayer.
We worship in different styles and at different times
Until the sanctuary is open for occupancy, we have held two worship services at 8:45a.m. -one traditional and in the choir room and the other contemporary and in Hearin Hall- and one traditional service at 11:00a.m. in Hearin Hall. The 11:00 service is broadcast live each week on WKUL 92.1 FM. Sermons from each weekend worship can be found here.
Where should I park?
There is Guest Parking on 3rd Street outside of Hearin Hall. There is also guest parking just outside the Welcome Center (rear parking lot). You will find information and helpful greeters as you enter.
Is there a nursery for my children?
Absolutely! Just inside of the Welcome Center entrance, you'll find nursery rooms specifically designed for that purpose. Our nurseries are fully staffed with persons with both background checks and first aid response training. We are a Safe Sanctuaries church.
My suit is in the cleaners. Am I still welcome?
You will find that we share in common things that matter most — trusting Jesus, growing in faith, reaching people with grace — but will find great variety in the way in which folks are dressed.
