Intentional Faith Development

Faith is not mainly a list of beliefs which we accept, nor just behaving well. It is a relationship with God — a relationship of mutual trust, loyalty, and love.

Some relationships begin in a moment — love at first sight, so to speak. But they do not continue unless there is on-going growth. A couple doesn’t get married then wave goodbye, saying they are happy enough with the 'married' status. They live with each other, mature, and face hardships together.

Similarly, we don’t just obtain the status of a “Christian,” and coast. We grow. One of the main paths of growing is to communicate with the God who loves us and to talk with other disciples. So...

read some Bible each day and pray.(A few minutes each.) Use The Upper Room devotion or a schedule of scripture readings. Keep an insight journal. Discuss how to live faithfully with others. Train to be a disciple, don't just learn about Christianity.
